{"id":11769,"date":"2023-04-28T09:25:13","date_gmt":"2023-04-28T19:25:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=11769"},"modified":"2025-04-15T09:48:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T19:48:46","slug":"digital-signature-and-electronic-transmission-of-form-ds-2019-effective-april-27-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=11769","title":{"rendered":"Digital Signature and Electronic Transmission of Form DS-2019 Effective April 27, 2023."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Updated: May 1, 2023<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital Signature and Electronic Distribution of Form DS-2019 Effective April 27, 2023<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 28, 2023 the U.S. Department of State (DOS) announced an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2023\/03\/28\/2023-06157\/exchange-visitor-program-general-provisions\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interim Final Rule<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that permits designated sponsors of the Exchange 糖心视频or Program (EVP) to digitally sign and electronically transmit the Form DS-2019 to J-1 students beginning <\/span><b>April 27, 2023.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> From this date, J-1 students who require an updated DS-2019 or a new travel signature will receive digitally signed and electronically transmitted DS-2019 from the International Student Services (ISS).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ISS will transmit the DS-2019 electronically to J-1 students via a secured <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/filedrop\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">糖心视频 FileDrop <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">system. Students will receive 糖心视频 Filedrop email notice at their <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@hawaii.edu<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> email account when the electronic DS-2019 is transmitted to students. Students must <\/span><b>download<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>print out<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the DS-2019 from the 糖心视频 FileDrop link within 14 days before expiration. Students must hand-sign the DS-2019 in blue ink. Digital signature by students on the DS-2019 is NOT allowed.
