Dear International Students,<\/b><\/p>\n

On June 4, 2025, the White House issued a <\/span>Presidential Proclamation<\/span><\/a> introducing new restrictions on the entry of certain foreign nationals into the U.S..\u00a0 The proclamation is scheduled to take effect at <\/span>12:01 AM (Eastern Time) on June 9, 2025<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

We would like to share the following information to help you understand how this may or may not affect your immigration status and travel plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Full Ban Countries (Immigrants and Nonimmigrants)<\/b><\/h3>\n

Nationals of the following 12 countries are subject to a complete suspension of entry to the U.S., including for study or exchange purposes: Afghanistan, Burma (Myanmar), Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Partial Ban Countries (Certain Visa Types)<\/b><\/h3>\n

Nationals of the following 7 countries may face restrictions on specific nonimmigrant visa types such as F (student), M (vocational), and J (exchange visitor): Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, Venezuela.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
