(Email sent 9\/11\/2025 at approximately 6:00pm to ISS International Students)<\/em><\/p>\n Dear International Students,<\/span><\/p>\n This email contains critical information about a new U.S. visa policy that will impact your ability to apply for a visa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a <\/span>September 6, 2025 news posting<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>the Department of State announced that effective immediately<\/span> all nonimmigrant visa applicants (including F-1 and J-1 students) should schedule their visa interviews in their country of citizenship or legal residence.\u00a0 This ends any option of getting a visa in a third country. However, existing appointments will generally not be cancelled by this new policy. Furthermore, citizens of countries with no visa services must make appointments at designated embassies or consulates (see <\/span>announcement<\/span><\/a> for list).<\/span><\/p>\n What You Need To Do:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
