More detailed information about the coronavirus, symptoms, and preventative measures can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwnc.cdc.gov\/travel\/notices\/warning\/novel-coronavirus-china\">CDC website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel.html\">U.S. Department of State<\/a> has issued its own <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/international-travel\/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages\/China.html#\/\">travel advisory for China<\/a>, and asks that people reconsider any travel to China at this time. It also warns that people should not travel to Hubei province, where the origin of the Coronavirus outbreak occurred in Wuhan.<\/p>\n<p>News outlets are reporting that the CDC will expand its health screening to 20 airports receiving travelers coming from China. This includes the Honolulu Airport. If you are returning to the U.S. from China, expect some delays, as you may be asked to complete a form and have your temperature taken.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For students considering travel: We encourage you not to travel to China at this time. In some cases, you may not be allowed to depart China after your visit if you are in an area of great concern.<\/li>\n<li>For students traveling to the U.S.: If you are coming from China, you may be subject to health screenings when you arrive at the U.S. airport. Even if you are not coming from China, you could still be subject to screenings, depending on the changing situation. Please be prepared for delays upon arrival.<\/li>\n<li>For students recently arrived from China: Please see a doctor right away if you start to feel ill or experience symptoms of the Coronavirus.<\/li>\n<li>For students currently in China applying for a visa: All U.S. Embassies and Consulates available for visa processing are still open. If you are unable to get a visa because of Coronavirus issues, please notify ISS immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As always, please practice proper hygiene as instructed by the CDC (e.g., wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds), and if you begin to feel ill, visit a doctor right away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a health warning that recommends travelers avoid all nonessential travel to China.
