{"id":8988,"date":"2021-07-08T13:26:48","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T23:26:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=8988"},"modified":"2025-04-15T09:48:46","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T19:48:46","slug":"for-exchange-visitor-j-students-updates-posted-on-the-exchange-visitor-program-covid-19-page","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/issmanoa\/?p=8988","title":{"rendered":"For Exchange 糖心视频or (J students): Updates Posted on the Exchange 糖心视频or Program COVID-19 Page"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On July 2, 2021, the Exchange 糖心视频or Program (EVP) posted an update to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/j1visa.state.gov\/covid-19\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EVP Information on Coronavirus<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page requiring national interest exception for exchange visitors (J visa holders) who transit through one of the 33 countries subject to Presidential Proclamations relating to COVID-19 during the 14-day period prior to their planned entry or attempted entry to the US:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;TRANSITING [sic] COUNTRIES WITH TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: Do exchange visitors who transit through one of the 33 countries subject to travel restrictions on their way to the United States need to apply for National Interest Exceptions?<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Yes. Even when exchange visitors\u2019 travel originates in a country that is not subject to a Presidential Proclamation, if the exchange visitors transit through one of thodr [sic] 33 countries on the way to the United States, the exchange visitors need National Interest Exceptions.
