Bad weather caused NASA to scrub today’s planned launch of a rocket carrying a scientific payload designed by Project Imua, a University of Hawaiʻi Community College student collaboration. The rocket had been scheduled to launch this morning from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
The poor weather conditions included rain, wind and rough seas. The principal investigator for today’s launch, Chris Koehler, congratulated the group on their “first scrub.”
The rocket launch has been rescheduled for 6 a.m. EST on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, when weather conditions look much more promising. The window of opportunity for tomorrow’s launch is from midnight to 4 a.m. HST.
