All University of Hawaiʻi at 惭ā苍辞补 (COE) student teachers and interns had the opportunity to apply for full tuition remission for the spring 2024 semester. An estimated $1.5 million in funding was made available through the generous support of to more than 200 students and interns.

“We are so appreciative of the support that Good Jobs Hawaiʻi has provided to the student teachers and interns in our COE teacher preparation programs,” said Aaron Levine, partnership and placement coordinator in the COE School of Teacher Education. “The tuition funds will go a long way toward helping to sustain Hawaiʻi’s educator workforce. Mahalo nui loa to the entire Good Jobs Hawaiʻi team for their gracious support!”

Tuition funds will be provided toward the end of February as a refund for student teachers and interns who have already paid for their spring 2024 tuition. Recipients were required to be Hawaiʻi residents, U.S. citizens (or permanent resident or COFA status), 16 years or older, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. They were eligible regardless of whether they already received stipends or apprenticeship funds from other sources.
