A colorful, crispy new snack inspired by the University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补 is hitting the shelves.

Hawaiian Chip Company launched 惭腻苍辞补 Mix, an officially licensed 糖心视频 snack featuring a “rainbow” blend of taro, golden sweet potato, purple sweet potato and kettle-style potato chips.

Locally sourced

The company sources Okinawan purple sweet potatoes from Hawaiʻi Island鈥檚 H膩m膩kua Coast and Kauaʻi, while its orange sweet potatoes are grown on Hawaiʻi Island. Locally grown taro is also used.

“Creating this special 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 mix felt like a natural fit for us,“ said Jimmy Chan, CEO of Hawaiian Chip Company. “As a proud 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 graduate, seeing our product hit the shelves is really a full-circle moment.”

The 惭腻苍辞补 Mix will be available at the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore and football game concession stands, as well as select local and online retailers.

A vibrant new mural inside the University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore is welcoming students with a colorful tribute to the campus community and its rich botanical landscape.

Created by 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 alumna and local artist Rachel Radona, the mural draws inspiration from the hundreds of plant species found across campus. More than a collection of flowers and trees, the artwork reflects the stories, cultures and experiences that make up the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 community.

“Art is about stories and moʻolelo,” Radona said. “Every student is different, comes from different backgrounds and comes from different cultures. Every plant and student has a different story to share.”

Inspired by campus

Before putting paint on the wall, Radona spent time exploring the university’s plant map and learning about the species that grow throughout campus. The mural features plants including the silk floss flower, k艒奴 and ʻulu trees,
each chosen for its connection to 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 and the stories they represent.

One of Radona’s favorite elements is the 驶ulu, which she said symbolizes community resilience through its place in Hawaiian moʻolelo. She also incorporated the kōū flower, a plant traditionally associated with welcoming guests, to help create an inviting atmosphere for everyone who enters the bookstore.

Throughout the mural, bold colors and flowing shapes reflect Radona’s artistic style. She hopes the finished piece encourages students to pause, notice the plants around them and discover something new about the campus.

Art that brings people together

Although painting the mural was rewarding, Radona said the interactions with students, faculty, staff and families became the most memorable part of the project.

“That’s what art is all about,” Radona said. “Whether it’s music, whether dancing or it’s painting, you’re supposed to share with one another.”

A recent 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 graduate, Radona said returning to campus to create the mural felt especially meaningful. She hopes the artwork reflects the welcoming spirit of the university while giving students another place where they can see themselves represented.

She also believes public art plays an important role on a college campus by giving people another way to express themselves and connect with others.

“It’s so important,” Radona said. “We are all trying to make our way, find our way in college. Art is mine. But I know so many wonderful people here who found their voice in so many other things.”

As students return for the fall semester, the mural will serve as a lasting reminder that every member of the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 community has a story to tell and that those stories help shape the campus experience.

The University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore was buzzing on Friday morning as hundreds lined up for the launch of a limited-edition Aloha Collection collaboration. The drop, featuring the first-ever Aloha Collection bags emblazoned with the 糖心视频 Athletics “H” logo and vintage rainbow logo, sold out shortly after doors opened.

More than 200 people were in line before the store opened, with the first customer arriving as early as 1 a.m. Some students said they secured their spots around 3:30 a.m., braving the early hours for a chance to snag the exclusive gear.

The high demand prompted a second opportunity later in the day: at 5 p.m., the bookstore launched an online pre-order for the same items, allowing fans to secure products that will ship in the coming weeks.

The turnout highlights a growing appetite for branded collaborations at 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补. Just a month earlier, lululemon unveiled its own exclusive line at the bookstore, drawing similar early crowds.

“We are happy to see that customers are flocking to our store because of the products we are bringing in,” said 糖心视频 Bookstore Assistant Director Staci Yoshihara. “We have a proven record of generating excitement with collaborations with popular brands.”

With back-to-back sellouts, the bookstore has cemented itself as a hub for unique collaborations, fueling both school spirit and community demand.

The lululemon | 糖心视频 collection made its in-store debut exclusively at the University of on Friday, August 8. About 200 people lined up before the doors opened at 8 a.m. The first person lined up before 5 a.m.

“So we knew lululemon was going to be a huge launch in the bookstore—I don鈥檛 think we quite expected the line to be so long, with hundreds in line, but you know, not surprised because lululemon is a brand name,” said 糖心视频 Bookstore Assistant Director Staci Yoshihara.

糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 is the first university team-up with lululemon in Hawaiʻi. The collection features a range of athletic and casual wear. Online sales and an in-store pickup option will be available beginning on Monday, August 11, limited to what remains in stock.

“Just being able to wear it is just, I mean it鈥檚 fun because you go to 糖心视频, I can rep this everywhere when I go to class, at home,” said Micah Alejado, 糖心视频 Rainbow Warrior quarterback, who attended the launch. “I love it, it鈥檚 fun and super comfortable, and obviously I鈥檓 not the only one.”

The collection is expected to welcome new products with a fall stock refresh that will include seasonal items. The 糖心视频 branded items are exclusive to the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore. The particular green color of products is also only available at the campus store.

糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore is the 99th campus store that lululemon has set up shop.

The product launch is one of a series of recent 糖心视频 collections with national brands such as Nike and Carhartt, and local companies such as Kahala and Fitted. 糖心视频 Bookstore encourages the public to follow its social media accounts to learn about the upcoming products first ().

The University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补 made a strong showing at the inaugural , held on July 20, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. The event aimed to promote fitness and engagement with healthy lifestyle practices.

The event featured contributions from the , the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 College of Education鈥檚 , the (HCAMP) and the .

Presented by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and Star Events Hawaiʻi, the expo was hosted by Chad Owens, a former 糖心视频 football standout. It was sponsored in part by 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补.

“Events like the Hawaiʻi Family & Sports Expo showcase the deep connection between our university athletics department and the community,” said 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 Athletics Director Matt Elliott. “It鈥檚 inspiring to see our student-athletes, coaches and alumni giving back to Hawaiʻi by promoting healthy lifestyles for all.”

Attendees could visit the 糖心视频 tailgating area at the exhibition hall, complete with merchandise, games and meet-and-greets with Rainbow Warrior and Wahine athletes and coaches. Attendees could also win prizes from HCAMP and the kinesiology department, learn more about the academic programs and meet 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 College of Education faculty and staff.

“Our participation in the Hawaiʻi Family & Sports Expo reflects the College of Education鈥檚 mission to promote wellness and lifelong learning,” said Nathan Murata, dean of the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 College of Education. “It was great to see our kinesiology department engaging directly with the community in celebrating fitness and healthy lifestyles.”

Booths from local sports leagues, healthcare providers, wellness vendors and community organizations provided information, demos and giveaways throughout the day. The event also included interactive sports clinics, youth athletic zones, pickleball and tennis courts and hands-on games.

“There was something for everyone at the expo,” said Emily Morden, 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 alumna and event coordinator at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaiʻi, who also participated in the event. “It was amazing to see how involved 糖心视频 was. From the athletes and coaches and other departments, they really showed up to promote health and sports.”

Through the the University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore Trade In and Save program, customers can exchange old electronic devices for bookstore gift cards. TecHub has partnered with PowerON for the last two years to offer this program.

“Our Trade-In Program offers a convenient way to recycle devices you no longer use,” said Kelly Toyama, TecHub’s manager. “In return, you’ll receive a bookstore gift card that can be used toward upgrading to a new device or any other purchase at the bookstore.”

Certain devices can be turned in, and TecHub will determine the worth of the device based on criteria from PowerON. If the device meets the criteria, TecHub will issue a bookstore gift card for the trade in value of the old device.

On top of a possible gift card, the Trade In and Save program also helps the environment. Through PowerON, it is ensured that old electronic devices are properly reused, recycled or disposed of, rather than being thrown away, which could be harmful to the environment.

The program runs all year long and is available to everyone including 糖心视频 faculty, staff, students and all community members.

The 19th Hawaiʻi Book & Music Festival (HBMF), in partnership with the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, will present a robust, two-day program September 14–15 on the 糖心视频 Mānoa campus.

The free, open to the public, non-profit festival will feature 150 events with more than 300 participants, including themed programs:

• Mainstage, featuring hula and music (at Campus Center)
• Keiki Stage, featuring musical artist Steve Songs (along Legacy Path)

• Celebrity Readers Corner, for young readers

Two Author venues will present new works by the Hawaiʻi Authors and Poets. The festival鈥檚 themed programs will include discussion panels on issues in Hawaiian culture, sustainability and resilience, wellness, innovation and the impact of AI on the humanities. Attendees can also enjoy the annual Hawaiʻi Literary Council鈥檚 Elliot Cades Awards for Literature, and the Loretta D. Petrie Awards for Service to the Literary Community.

The Publisher鈥檚 Village will host local publishers, exhibitors and vendors including a variety of food trucks.

A few weeks prior to the beginning of each semester, University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补 students can now place orders for their textbooks completely online. Orders for their textbooks can be made through STAR GPS with their student account or through the . The switch to fully online ordering launched in fall 2024.

If students start the ordering process through STAR GPS, their book order will automatically load based on their courses. Students without access to a computer may visit the store’s Book Information Desk for assistance from a staff member.

Kamalani garnered 665 votes for his design that depicts HI Pride with images of a palm tree and flowers. “All around the island, the different aspects of Hawaiʻi create a sensory experience that is truly unique to Hawaiʻi. The annual HI Pride T-Shirt Design Contest鈥攏ow in its 12th year鈥攊s held in the spring and open to all 糖心视频 students. Students are asked to submit designs that show what HI Pride (or Hawaiʻi Pride) means to them. Semi-finalist designs are put online for a public vote.

Showing off their ongoing support for the University of Hawaiʻi at 惭腻苍辞补, local boutique released its newest “Eden x 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 collection,” available exclusively at the . The new merchandise items include tote bags, crossbody bags and stadium cups featuring motifs inspired by the “beautifully diverse campus offerings and student body.”

The partnership with Eden in Love—known for their collaborative pieces with local schools, businesses and organizations—began in August 2022. The Office of the Provost, Office of Admissions and the 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 Bookstore approached owners and 糖心视频 alumni Tanna and Bryson Dang, to come up with new custom-designed 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 merchandise to promote student, alumni and community pride, and enhance the university鈥檚 marketing and branding efforts.

“This collaboration with Eden in Love has been a great way to showcase our support for our 糖心视频M-azing alumni and the partnerships with inter-departments. This spirit of collaboration has produced an exciting and unique design, exclusive to Eden in Love and our campus bookstore that we hope everyone will enjoy,” said Jennel Sesoko, 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 director of branding and marketing. “We value the relationships cultivated both on and off campus with our students, faculty, staff and greater community to be a part of, engaged in the celebration of school spirit and Warrior pride.”

In April 2023, the collection initially launched with a limited release of the medium tote bag that was available for purchase at the 惭腻苍辞补 Experience: University Preview Day. The item was so popular that all the bags sold out within a few days. The bags are currently back in stock at the bookstore.

“It’s always a delight to be able to partner on projects at the bookstore from our very own talented 糖心视频 alumni,” said Staci Yoshihara, assistant bookstore director. “After a year of collaboration, we are pleased with the products that we驶re able to offer our 糖心视频 supporters.”

“It鈥檚 been a thrill to nod back to our old stomping grounds,” said Tanna Dang. “So much of who we are today is because of the foundation 糖心视频 has laid for us.”

Eden in Love鈥檚 support for their hometown university began with “Bentos for the Band,” a project in 2019 led by Bryson Dang, who was a former marching band member. That turned into their recent “Aloha For Da Band” collaboration in 2022 in which exclusive 糖心视频 band tote bags were created with a portion of sales benefiting the band.

In this newest Eden and 糖心视频 collaboration, Creative Director Alyssa Han, also a 糖心视频 alumna, spearheaded the design process.

“We were honored to create this design and once again support 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补. Not only does it encompass the school spirit and cheer but also features unique aspects of 糖心视频 惭腻苍辞补 including landmark Hawaiʻi Hall, its Hawaiian name, ‘Ke Kulanui o Hawaiʻi ma 惭腻苍辞补’ and a hidden unicorn showing off the land, sea, sun and space grant designation,” Han said.

She added, “Beyond panels and mentorship, we hope that inspiring the community to support higher education in our state will come from these cheerful collaborations.”

The annual HI Pride T-Shirt Design Contest—now in its 11th year—is held in the spring and open to all 糖心视频 students. Students are asked to submit designs that show what HI Pride (or Hawaiʻi Pride) means to them. Semi-finalist designs are put online for a public vote.

What does “HI聽Pride” mean to you? The聽wants your feedback! The polls are now open to vote for your favorite T-shirt design.

This year鈥檚 eleventh annual聽HI聽Pride T-shirt Contest garnered 48 original designs. Three finalists have been selected and the Bookstore System is seeking feedback from all聽糖心视频 students, faculty and staff to determine the winner!

One winner and one runner-up, selected by public vote, will be awarded a prize pack worth more than $200.

Calling all University of Hawaiʻi students! What does “HI Pride” mean to you? Show off your creative skills and enter the 11th annual HI Pride T-shirt Design contest. Students from all 10 糖心视频 campuses are encouraged to submit their original T-shirt designs.

One winner and one runner-up, selected by public vote, will be awarded prizes including an Apple Beats Solo headphones (pink), a $25 bookstore gift card and a T-shirt featuring the winning HI Pride design.
