Guided by new leadership and competing under a unifying theme, the produced a historic 2025–26 season highlighted by championship moments, including a statewide celebration of a national title.

“Our Team, Hawaiʻi鈥檚 Team” was introduced shortly after Matt Elliott鈥檚 appointment as athletics director in June 2025, and 糖心视频 teams delivered moments that resonated throughout the state over the course of the sports calendar.

A Christmas Eve miracle to capture the Hawaiʻi Bowl title highlighted the fall season and the men鈥檚 basketball team claimed the program鈥檚 first Big West Championship title and accompanying NCAA Tournament appearance in a decade in March 2026. 糖心视频 dominated in the pool with the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 swimming and diving teams sweeping the Big West championships while the Rainbow Wahine water polo team went undefeated in conference play for a third straight year.

The Rainbow Warrior volleyball team then asserted its claim to dynastic status by capturing the program鈥檚 third national championship within the last six years. The title run included the program鈥檚 first NCAA Tournament match on its home court at a sold-out Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center and concluded with rousing victories over Long Beach State and UC Irvine.

Along the way from the soccer team鈥檚 opener in mid-August through the NCAA Track and Field First Round in late May, 糖心视频 student-athletes continued to rack up national and conference honors, including Kansei Matsuzawa becoming the first consensus All-American in the football program鈥檚 109 years of competition.

The department also bid aloha to three longtime coaches with Robyn Ah Mow (women鈥檚 volleyball), Laura Beeman (women鈥檚 basketball) and Andy Johnson (sailing) stepping away from their roles. The 2025–26 campaign also marked the farewell season to the Big West for 14 teams before joining the 糖心视频 football team in the Mountain West effective July 1.

After claiming a third straight Big West title and NCAA tournament appearance, four members of the were named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division I All-America teams for the 2026 season, the organization announced May 21.

Sophomore attacker Agatha Weston earned ACWPC All-America Second-Team honors, while junior goalkeeper Daisy Logtens, sophomore attacker Ema Vernoux, and freshman utility Ariadna Temprano Xambó received All-America honorable mention recognition.

With this season鈥檚 selections, 糖心视频 Mānoa has featured at least one All-American in all 29 seasons since the program鈥檚 inception in 1998. The Rainbow Wahine have produced at least four All-Americans in each of the last three seasons.

糖心视频 Mānoa finished 16-6 in head coach James Robinson鈥檚 second year at the helm, sweeping the Big West regular-season and tournament crowns for a third year in a row. The 鈥楤ows went undefeated in conference play and extended their winning streak against Big West competition to 29 consecutive victories dating back to 2024. 糖心视频 Mānoa concluded its season at the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship in La Jolla, California, securing three consecutive NCAA bids for the first time in program history.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa player Gabrielle Doyle was named the recipient of the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete award for the 2026 National Collegiate Women鈥檚 Water Polo Championship.

Doyle, a business major with a 4.0 GPA, received the award on April 23 at the championship banquet in La Jolla.

The NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete award recognizes competitors who excel at the highest level of their sport while maintaining the top academic standing among championship participants.

糖心视频 has earned the honor five times in women鈥檚 water polo history, becoming the first program to win it three consecutive years.

Doyle is the fourth Rainbow Wahine player to receive the award, joining Amarens Genee, Taylor Molde and teammate Raha Peiravani.

The University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa earned its third consecutive Big West Championship title with a victory over Long Beach State in the tournament final, April 12.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa attacker Ema Vernoux was named the Big West women鈥檚 water polo player of the week on March 25 following a standout performance against No. 3 USC.

The honor marks Vernoux鈥檚 second career selection. The sophomore matched her season high of five goals (0.625 shooting percentage) and recorded one assist and one steal against the Trojans on March 18.

Vernoux leads the team with 106 career goals and 138 points.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa goalkeeper Daisy Logtens was named the Big West women’s water polo Player of the Week after an impressive showing at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational held February 13鈥15.

This marks Logtens’ second career weekly honor. The junior protected the cage with 24 saves and four steals to help the Rainbow Wahine go 2鈥1 in the tournament featuring six of the top seven teams in the national polls.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa utility Agatha Weston was named Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week following a strong weekend at the Fresno State Polopalooza.

Weston earned her first career weekly honor after scoring seven goals with a .368 shooting percentage and contributing a team-high eight steals and two field blocks to help the Rainbow Wahine post a 2鈥1 mark in the tournament.

Weston opened the weekend with a hat trick on .600 shooting, along with three steals and two field blocks in a win over No. 12 San Jose State. She then set a career-high with four goals against No. 5 Cal and closed the weekend by setting another career best with four steals in a win over No. 15 Michigan.

The 驶Bows will resume action at the Triton Invitational from January 30 to February 1, at the Canyonview Aquatic Center in La Jolla, California.

The University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa team was voted first in the Big West Preseason Coaches鈥 Poll, positioning the Rainbow Wahine as early favorites heading into the 2026 season.

The team totaled 45 points and received five first-place votes in the poll with Long Beach State earning a close second with 44 points and two first-place votes. Daisy Logtens, Ema Vernoux and Agatha Weston were also named to the Big West Preseason Coaches Team.

Logtens earned her second consecutive preseason selection following a standout 2025 campaign. She received ACWPC All-America Third Team and All-Big West First Team honors after recording 209 saves and 35 steals, earning Big West Championship MVP honors during a dominant postseason run.

Vernoux, the reigning Big West Freshman of the Year, led the Rainbow Wahine with 78 goals and 98 points in 2025 while earning All-America honorable mention recognition. Weston returns after redshirting last season and previously earned All-Freshman Team honors in 2024.

Led by second-year head coach James Robinson, the defending Big West champions open the 2026 season on January 17, at the Fresno State Polopalooza in Fresno, California.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa standout Bernadette Doyle has been named one of the Big West’s nominees for the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

The award honors academic achievements, athletic excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three NCAA divisions.

Doyle’s selection marks the second time in the last three years that the Big West nominated a member of the 糖心视频 water polo program for the award.

Over her career at 糖心视频 M膩noa, Doyle was a part of three Big West championship teams and helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to back-to-back appearances in the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship semifinals in her junior and senior seasons.

Each conference forwards their top nominees for the award, and from those the top 30 honorees are selected and will be announced in October. Three finalists are chosen from each division, and the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics then selects the NCAA Woman of the Year, who will be recognized in January.

Four standout players from the University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa were named All-Americans by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, following the team鈥檚 run to the NCAA Championship Final Four.

Bernadette Doyle and Jordan Wedderburn earned second-team honors, while Daisy Logtens made the third team, and Ema Vernoux received an honorable mention.

Doyle, the Big West Player of the Year, tallied 56 goals, 39 assists and a conference-best 55 steals. She became just the second 糖心视频 M膩noa player ever to record more than 100 career goals, assists and steals.

Wedderburn finished with 68 goals in her senior season. She tied the program record with three Big West Player of the Week honors.

Logtens, a two-time All-American, led the conference with a 9.10 goals-against average and earned Big West Championship MVP honors with 209 saves.

Freshman Vernoux led the team with 78 goals—fourth-most in a single season in program history—and was named Big West Freshman of the Year.

The reigning Big West Champion Rainbow Wahine finished the season 22鈥5, reaching the NCAA semifinals for the second straight year under head coach James Robinson.

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa swept the Big West鈥檚 major awards, and a total of seven members of the program received postseason recognition from the conference.

The Big West announced its 2025 awards on May 2. Bernadette Doyle’s all-around performance earned the senior conference Player of the Year honors in a voting of the league’s coaches. Ema Vernoux, the team’s leading goal scorer, was named the Freshman of the Year, and James Robinson was voted Coach of the Year in his first season leading the Rainbow Wahine.

Doyle and Vernoux, both attackers, also made the All-Big West First Team along with goalkeeper Daisy Logtens. Senior utility Jordan Wedderburn was a second-team selection and junior attacker Roni Perlman earned honorable mention recognition. Vernoux and attacker Gabrielle Doyle also made the All-Freshman team.

The Jack Bonham Award was presented to Lily Wahinekapu (), Jordan Wedderburn () and Brayden Schager (football) at the 12th annual H Awards on April 30. The Bonham Award is the University of Hawaiʻi Athletics Department鈥檚 highest individual honor.

Leadership on the court, in the pool and on the field, along with excellence in the classroom and service in the community link the 2025 recipients.

ʻOhana has been at the core of Wahinekapu鈥檚 decorated three-year athletic and academic careers as a member of the Rainbow Wahine basketball program. Playing in front of family and friends in the arena and alongside her sister in the 糖心视频 backcourt, Wahinekapu led the team in scoring each of her three seasons while helping the ‘Bows capture two Big West regular-season titles and a conference tournament championship on their way to three national postseason tournament appearances.

She was twice named to the All-Big West first team and in 2025 became the third 糖心视频 player to be named Big West Player of the Year. She became the 25th member of the program鈥檚 1,000-point club and ended her career 17th on the all-time scoring list. She also ranks seventh in made 3-pointers.

A team captain as a senior, Wahinekapu received the Ah Chew Goo Award as the program鈥檚 “most valuable team player.” In the classroom, she earned Academic All-Big West honors each of her three years at 糖心视频 and was twice named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

The product of Kāneʻohe, Wahinekapu also gave back to the Windward Oʻahu community in service projects including cleanups at Waimānalo Beach and Punaluʻu Loʻi. She also helped fundraise for the Hawaiʻi Foodbank as part of Maui wildfire relief efforts and has worked with special needs children with Team Impact.

“Lily Wahinekapu has been one of my favorite athletes to coach,” 糖心视频 women’s basketball head coach Laura Beeman said. “She is passionate and an incredible teammate. She has represented the university and the state with pride.”

Prioritizing team success over individual accolades, Jordan Wedderburn has exemplified selfless leadership while contributing to the most successful four-year stretch in 糖心视频 water polo history.

Wedderburn served as a team captain for South Africa鈥檚 water polo team in the Tokyo Olympic Games before enrolling at 糖心视频 and has ranked among the team鈥檚 scoring leaders each of her four years while thriving in varying roles within the lineup. She further elevated her production as a senior, posting a career-high 65 goals entering the NCAA Championship to join 糖心视频鈥檚 career top 10. She also tied program records with three Big West Player of the Week awards this season and four in her career.

She has helped 糖心视频 claim three Big West regular-season titles with a 26-1 cumulative record in conference play, and back-to-back Big West Championship crowns. She helped 糖心视频 ascend to No. 2 in the national polls in 2024—the highest ranking in program history—and the 鈥楤ows have maintained a spot in the top three for much of this season.

“Jordan has always been the spirit of the team, providing energy in a positive manner whenever the team needs it,” 糖心视频 water polo coach James Robinson said. “Jordan plays a role for this team that she never played before in her water polo career. Every year Jordan has had to make sacrifices and play a different role than she probably would like to, but she has never once complained.”

Wedderburn holds a 3.78 grade-point average while majoring in kinesiology and entered her senior year as a two-time Academic All-Big West and ACWPC All-Academic honoree.

She has served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for two years and worked with Access Surf, helping those with physical or cognitive disabilities to swim or surf. She also participated in Kōkua Learning Farm work days and with the Child Life Program, spending time with children going through treatment for retinoblastoma (an eye cancer) and their families.

On the field, Brayden Schager earned a place among 糖心视频鈥檚 storied line of quarterbacks over his career as a three-year starter. Off the field, his efforts to spread joy to young people with special needs—both in Hawaiʻi and his home state of Texas—drew national acclaim.

Schager made 37 starts at quarterback in his 糖心视频 career, the second highest total in program history, including a record streak of 33 in a row. He picked up All-Mountain West honorable mention recognition in 2023 and closed his career ranked among the most prolific passers in program history at No. 4 in passing yards (9,096) and total offense (9,415). He’s also fifth in passing touchdowns (60) and touchdowns responsible for (68).

A three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree, Schager was one of 11 FBS players nationally selected to the 2024 AFCA Good Works Team, which honored student-athletes for their unwavering commitment to community service and their “good works” off the field. He was also a semifinalist for the 2024 Wuerffel Award, considered college football’s premier honor for community service.

Throughout his stay in Hawaiʻi, he remained committed to organizing the Buddy Bowl, an event he founded with his sister in their hometown of Highland Park, Texas. The game gives athletes with physical and mental disabilities an opportunity to play with their peers with the support of fans, the Highland Park football team and cheerleaders. During his time in Hawaiʻi, he participated in the Unity Prom for special needs students and took part in the Night to Shine where he formed a close bond with a dear friend with special needs who he continues to call and text. He also helped develop the BraddahBall, with proceeds going to Maui relief efforts.

“He was a team captain for us and spent the last three years on our leadership committee,” 糖心视频 football coach Timmy Chang said. “He has been a focal point of the program, not only on the field but off the field as well with his engagement within the community. 鈥 He is an exceptional individual and that was displayed during his time at the University of Hawaiʻi. Brayden Schager helped lay the foundation for the future of our program.”

Usually behind the camera in her duties with the University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa program, Ecaterina Silisteanu this time will be on air on the world stage at the World Aquatics Women鈥檚 Water Polo World Cup Final in China.

served as a commentator for the men’s division 1 World Cup in Bucharest in January.

Silisteanu is in her third year as a student manager with the Rainbow Wahine and will spend part of the team鈥檚 bye week in China working as a commentator for World Aquatics on the broadcasts from Chengdu. The World Cup runs April 18 through April 20.

Along with Silisteanu in the broadcast booth, the event will feature three former Rainbow Wahine in the pool. Paula Prats Rodriguez (2022) is on Spain鈥檚 roster, and Maartje Keuning (2017–18) and Maxine Schaap (2019) are playing for the Netherlands. Keuning helped the Netherlands claim bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Other countries in the event are Australia, China, Greece, Hungary, Italy and Japan.

“I鈥檝e been doing a lot of scouting for all the teams,” Silisteanu said. “These are some of the best female water polo players in the world competing this weekend, and I want to honor their hard work and achievements by highlighting their incredible stories.”

The tournament marks Silisteanu鈥檚 second World Cup experience as a broadcaster. A former player in Romania鈥檚 national program, she worked the men鈥檚 division 1 World Cup in her hometown in Bucharest in January before returning to 糖心视频 for the spring semester.

Her assignments as the 鈥楤ows鈥 team manager include filming the games for the coaches, and with the Women鈥檚 World Cup falling in the week between the end of 糖心视频‘s regular-season schedule and the Big West Championship, she accepted an invitation to again provide analysis for all 12 matches.

Following the World Cup, Silisteanu will resume her role with the fourth-ranked Rainbow Wahine, who are preparing for the Big West Championship set for April 25–27 in Irvine, California. 糖心视频 enters the eight-team bracket as the No. 1 seed and defending champion and will be seeking a second straight berth in the NCAA Championship.

“The moment I moved to Hawaiʻi it felt like everything fell perfectly into place,” said Silisteanu, who also served as a volunteer at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and is on track to graduate in December with a degree in management and international business. “I am so incredibly thankful for these fantastic opportunities and for all the people who support me in all my projects.”

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is ranked third and fourth in the national polls and was crowned outright Big West regular-season champions after a 14-4 win over Cal State Fullerton on April 13.

Ema Vernoux, Bernadette Doyle and Jordan Wedderburn led the Rainbow Wahine with three goals each, and 糖心视频 set a program record with its 15th consecutive regular-season conference win while completing an undefeated run through the Big West schedule for the second straight year.

糖心视频 closed out the regular season with a commanding win, powered by a first-half scoring burst that saw seven players contribute to a 10-2 halftime lead. Vernoux notched her 16th hat trick of the season and enters the postseason with a team-high 69 goals鈥攕eventh-most in program history.

Wedderburn recorded her 12th hat trick and moved into 10th on 糖心视频鈥檚 career scoring list with 151 goals. Bernadette Doyle tallied her 11th hat trick, opening the game with two quick scores and later adding assists to her sister Gabrielle Doyle and Wedderburn.

糖心视频 will begin its Big West title defense on April 25, against No. 8 seed UC Irvine at the Anteater Aquatics Complex in California.

University of Hawaiʻi at M膩noa player Jordan Wedderburn鈥檚 five-goal performance on March 22 earned her a second Big West Player of the Week award of the season.

Wedderburn scored three of her match-high five goals in the fourth quarter to help the third-ranked Rainbow Wahine defeat University of the Pacific, 15-8. She scored on five of her six shots (83.3%), while also recording a steal and drawing four exclusions.

Wedderburn has posted at least three goals in eight contests this season and ranks second on the team with 44 goals.

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa senior Bernadette Doyle was among 20 student-athletes named to the Cutino Award Watch List in an announcement from USA Water Polo, The Olympic Club and the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.

Doyle, an attacker, enters the week second on the team with 55 total points with 34 goals and 21 assists. She also leads the third-ranked Rainbow Wahine with 29 steals and nine field blocks.

Doyle has scored at least three goals in eight matches this season, with a high of five in a win over UC Santa Barbara. Her strong performances helped elevate the team to No. 3 in the national rankings. She was named Big West Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick and the golden goal in an overtime win against No. 6 Long Beach State.

The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, recognizes the best player in men’s and women’s college water polo.

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa attacker Bernadette Doyle has been named the Big West Player of the Week for the second time this season on March 19, after helping the Rainbow Wahine pull out a dramatic conference win over Long Beach State on March 15.

Doyle scored a hat trick and the game-winning goal in overtime during Hawaiʻi’s 9-8 win over the Beach at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. This honor makes her the third 糖心视频 player to win it this season.

She broke a 3-3 tie with her first goal, then contributed a steal and score in the first overtime. Doyle sealed the win with a golden goal just 25 seconds into sudden death. She finished with three goals on five shots, an assist, three exclusions drawn, a steal and two field blocks.

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa attacker Ema Vernoux was named Big West Water Polo Player of the Week on February 26 after scoring a team-high 14 goals over four matches at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.

The freshman led the Rainbow Wahine to a 3-1 record and third-place finish in the tournament against top-ranked teams. She scored four goals in 糖心视频鈥檚 historic 8-5 win over No. 3 UCLA, their first victory over the Bruins since 2011.

Vernoux totaled 14 goals across the tournament, including a game winner against No. 4 California. She now leads 糖心视频 with 43 goals, ranking third in the Big West. 糖心视频 moved up to No. 3 in national polls and begins Big West play on March 7 at UC Santa Barbara.

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa senior Jordan Wedderburn was named Big West Player of the Week on February 5 after delivering a career-best performance.

Wedderburn scored a career-high seven goals in an overtime win over UC Irvine on February 1, highlighting a 15-goal weekend in the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, California, and won the Big West award for the second time in her 糖心视频 career.

The senior opened the weekend with four goals on five shots in 糖心视频鈥檚 19-4 win over Cal State Fullerton. Wedderburn got a hat trick against Fresno State, helping 糖心视频 come back from a 6-2 halftime deficit to win 11-10 in overtime. In the third-place match, Wedderburn scored seven goals鈥攖he most by a 糖心视频 player since 2023鈥攍eading 糖心视频 to an 18-17 win over UC Irvine.

Wedderburn made 60% of her shots in the tournament and ranks second on the team with 22 goals. She reached 100 career goals in 糖心视频鈥檚 win over Arizona State and now has 115.
