Gouveia, Jr.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcuh.com\/\">Research Corporation of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span><\/a> (<abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr>) Board of Directors has appointed <strong>Leonard R. Gouveia, Jr.<\/strong> as the new executive director, effective July 1. Gouveia is currently the director of the Office of Research Services for <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We believe Lenny\u2019s familiarity with the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, <abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr>, state government and the federal government will allow him to hit the ground running,&rdquo; said <abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr> Board Chair <strong>Donna Ikeda<\/strong>. &ldquo;He understands the critical role <abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr> plays in supporting the research enterprise. We look forward to working with him as he leads <abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr> to greater success in the future.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Gouveia has been affiliated with <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> for more than 15 years, at first as a contracts specialist in the Office of Research Services. He then took an <abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr> position as a technical partnership and development specialist at the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Space Flight Laboratory in <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, where he gained experience managing a complex project of more than $40 million with unique administrative, contractual and legal issues. Gouveia has also worked with the vice president for research to establish the university\u2019s first Office of Export Controls in addition to assuming the role of facility security officer, a position held previously by <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. He subsequently served as the interim assistant vice president\/director of research compliance before becoming the director of the Office of Research Services.<\/p>\n<p>Gouveia follows <strong>Sylvia Yuen<\/strong> who served as <abbr>RC糖心视频<\/abbr> executive director for five years and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2019\/01\/06\/rcuh-executive-director-yuen-to-retire\/\">will be retiring at the end of June 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leonard R.
