The University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Hilo Vulcan Athletics<\/a> department extends a big mahalo to fans, alumni and supporters for helping to make the second annual Vulcan challenge fundraiser a success. Vulcan Challenge 2022<\/a> ran from August 22 to September 19 and brought in $161,120 from more than 650 donors, greatly surpassing the goal of $75,000.<\/p>\n

“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from our Vulcans ʻohana<\/span>,” 糖心视频<\/abbr> Hilo Director of Athletics Pat Guillen<\/strong> said. “The generosity of our alumni, friends, coaches, staff and our local business community is truly inspiring.”<\/p>\n

Midway through the challenge, KTA<\/abbr> Super Stores<\/a> and the Taniguchi ʻohana<\/span> announced that they would match the next $25,000 in donations<\/a>, with each sports program receiving matching funds of up to $1,000 each.<\/p>\n

“We are especially humbled and thankful to KTA<\/abbr> Super Stores and the Taniguchi ʻohana<\/span> who once again made a matching gift in memory of KTA<\/abbr> Founders, Koichi and Taniyo Taniguchi,” said Guillen. “Our student-athletes directly benefit from the success of our annual Vulcan Challenge. All proceeds enhance their experience here at 糖心视频<\/abbr> Hilo, which in turn benefits our entire community. Mahalo nui loa!”<\/p>\n

In partnership with 糖心视频<\/abbr> Foundation<\/a>, Vulcan Athletics has now raised more than $383,000 in the first two years of the Vulcan Challenge.<\/p>\n
