He played 7 years in the <abbr>NFL<\/abbr> as a wide receiver for the Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders. After his pro career, Lelie served as an assistant football coach at the University of Nevada and Alabama A&#38;M and as a student manager at <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">糖心视频<\/abbr> when he returned to <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> to finish his degree.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Lelie_Ashley_broncos-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"Ashley Lelie\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-173864\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Lelie_Ashley_broncos-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Lelie_Ashley_broncos-93x130.jpg 93w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Lelie_Ashley_broncos.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Leile earned a <abbr>BA<\/abbr> in history and an <abbr>MBA<\/abbr> in business administration at <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M&#257;noa, where he is currently nearing completion of an <abbr title=\"master of science\">MS<\/abbr> in tropical plant and soil sciences. He is a successful businessman in egg production and nursery crops on <span aria-label=\"Oahu.\">O&#699;ahu.<\/span> Lelie is a graduate of Radford High School, where he was a three-sport standout athlete prior to enrolling at <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M&#257;noa.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Ashley was recommended by a <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> faculty member who had been following the news about the committee,&rdquo; said <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. &ldquo;I was delighted to meet him and he indicated he would be honored to serve.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The other committee members are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Michael Bruno<\/strong>, <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M&#257;noa provost (committee co-chair)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Susan Eichor<\/strong>, <abbr>aio<\/abbr> president and chief operating officer (committee co-chair)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laura Beeman<\/strong>, <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> women\u2019s basketball head coach<\/li>\n<li><strong>Albert D.K. Chee<\/strong>, vice president of retail marketing and community relations for Island Energy and former chair, <span aria-label=\"Ahahui\">&#699;Ahahui<\/span> Koa &#256;nuenue<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sabrina McKenna<\/strong>, <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Supreme Court associate justice and former <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> student athlete<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scott Sinnett<\/strong>, <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M&#257;noa faculty athletics representative and professor of psychology<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charlie Wade<\/strong>, <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> men\u2019s volleyball head coach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Friday, March 10 is the deadline to submit applications for best consideration. Applications beyond the deadline will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. After March 10, the eight-person search advisory committee will begin reviewing applications and determine potential interviews, scheduled to take place in March and April. The committee will present Lassner a short list of finalists and he is expected to make a recommendation to the Board of Regents at the May 18 board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The attention being drawn to this search advisory committee is unprecedented,&rdquo; said Lassner. &ldquo;We hope that all of those showing passion are also encouraging every qualified applicant they know to apply. Our student athletes, the university and the community will benefit from the best competitive pool of highly qualified candidates. And we trust that those with the greatest passion will rally together to support the success of our next athletic director, which is the success of our student athletes and the only major athletic program within 2,000 miles of the people of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii.\"\">Hawai&#699;i.&ldquo;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2023\/02\/15\/manoa-athletics-director-search\/\">The nationwide search was announced on February 15 and the position description<\/a>, list of search advisory committee members and timeline are publicly posted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/executivesearch\/athletics\"><abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Executive Search website<\/a> with instructions on how to apply. The <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Director of Athletics oversees 21 intercollegiate sports and related facilities that supports the academic and athletic success of about 450 student athletes each
