It will be led by Aunty Lynette Kahekili Kaopuiki Palignawan, a revered cultural practitioner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2023\/02\/06\/hooponopono-leader-recognized\/\">social work pioneer<\/a>, Living Treasure of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>, and Thompson School alumna. She will be joined by haku <span aria-label=\"Hoomau\">Ho&#699;omau<\/span> <span aria-label=\"kakoo\">k&#257;ko&#699;o<\/span>, Kate Kahoano.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Aunty Lynette\u2019s teachings are rooted in deep cultural wisdom, and her approach empowers us to connect across generations through shared values and practices of healing,&rdquo; said Theresa Kreif, a faculty member in the Thompson School\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/thompson\/dsw\/\">Department of Social Work<\/a>. &ldquo;We are humbled to host this journey of learning and reconnection.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The program builds on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2025\/06\/16\/restoring-pono-restoring-community-uh-west-oahu\/\">successful community-engaged learning model<\/a> previously used by Palignawan at <a href=\"http:\/\/westoahu.hawaii.edu\">糖心视频 West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span><\/a>, where students and community members participate as equal learners.<\/p>\n<h2>Community-focused, rooted in cultural knowledge<\/h2>\n<p>Sessions for the two-part series will take place Tuesdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m. <abbr title=\"Hawaii Standard Time\">HST<\/abbr>. No background in Hawaiian studies or social work is required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mbtssw.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_kcPzUPfoSdqyqu3lRJqbwg#\/registration\">Register for part 1<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mbtssw.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_iObXZE9uSMqUAmqpXGnx4A#\/registration\">Register for part 2<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While free and open to the public, participants are encouraged to commit to attending all 15 sessions. The program is especially inviting former haum\u0101na (students) of Palignawan from the <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, <abbr>糖心视频<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> campuses and the Hawaiian Learning Program as well as students from the Ke <span aria-label=\"Ao\">A&#699;o<\/span> Mau Program, Native Hawaiian Interdisciplinary Health Program, and the school\u2019s Native Hawaiian and Indigenous Health Specialization.<\/p>\n<p>The series is made possible through the support of the Thompson School\u2019s Department of Social Work, its Pacific Partnerships &#38;
