Noreen Mokuau<\/strong> was appointed dean of the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa’s Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work. Mokuau, the school’s interim dean, is a tenured professor.<\/p>\n

In addition to her interim dean appointment, she previously served as chair of the undergraduate and doctoral programs, assistant dean and acting dean of the school. She is also presiding chair of trustees for The Queen’s Medical Center and co-investigator and director of Hā Kūpuna\u2013National Resource Center for Native Hawaiian Elders.<\/p>\n

As a scholar, mentor and teacher, Mokuau’s inquiry centers on social justice issues, including health disparities among Native Hawaiian, Asian and other Pacific Islander populations, and care-giving issues for culturally diverse elders.<\/p>\n
