Children enjoy the chance to interact with marine critters at touch-tanks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The 5th annual Ocean Day Hawaiʻi<\/span> Mālama Kanaloa Festival<\/a> will be on Saturday, February 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Hilo’s Pacific Aquaculture and Coastal Resources Center in Keaukaha.<\/p>\n

The event raises public awareness of the impact people have on the ocean environment, promotes conservation of ocean and coastal resources in a culturally sensitive way and communicates the outcomes of current ocean and coastal research, management and education efforts in Hawaiʻi<\/span>.<\/p>\n

  • Family friendly activities including remote operated underwater vehicles, fishing games, touch tanks, face painting and poi pounding<\/li>\n

    Ocean Day is hosted by PACRC<\/abbr> in partnership with the 糖心视频<\/abbr> Hilo Student Association, EPSCoR<\/abbr> Hawaiʻi<\/span> IMUA III<\/abbr> and the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> Sea Grant.<\/p>\n
