Chip Fletcher<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Recognized climate expert Chip Fletcher<\/a><\/strong>, will discuss several aspects of climate change as part of the Community Forum in Chemistry series<\/a> at Windward Community College<\/a> on Thursday, September 28, 2–4 p.m. at Hale ʻ\u0100koakoa<\/span> 103. The forum is free and open to the public. Parking is free.<\/p>\n

Topics of climate change in Hawaiʻi<\/span> to be discussed in an interactive Q&A format will include: extreme weather, sea-level rise, reef bleaching, ecosystem impacts, declining rainfall, El Ni\u00f1o, Hawaiʻi<\/span>’s weather system and natural climate change.<\/p>\n

Fletcher, is the associate dean for academic affairs and professor of geology and geophysics<\/a> at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology<\/a> at the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa. Fletcher teaches graduate and undergraduate courses emphasizing climate change on the Pacific Islands and coastal geology. His work is published in more than 50 international scientific journal articles and recently published three books including Climate Change: What the Science Tells Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n
