Sheena Iyengar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Renowned psychologist and business professor Sheena Iyengar<\/strong><\/a> will speak on the ways human beings make choices and how those decisions shape lives. Part of the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at M\u0101noa\u2019s Better Tomorrow Speaker Series<\/a>, her talk, “Lead by Choice”, will be held on Thursday, March 14, 6 p.m. in 糖心视频<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s Art Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Shidler College of Business<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Iyengar is the world\u2019s foremost expert on choice. A social psychologist and professor of management at Columbia University in New York, she is the author of the award-winning The Art of Choosing<\/em>, as well as scores of scholarly articles. Her work has been featured in the New York Times<\/em>, Wall Street Journal<\/em>, The Atlantic<\/em>, and on CNN<\/abbr>, PBS<\/abbr> and the BBC<\/abbr>. Her TED<\/abbr> talks have attracted more than 5 million views.<\/p>\n

Iyengar\u2019s seminal research focuses on the psychology of decision-making, addressing how humans face challenges in a world where they are inundated with options. Her current research has expanded to examine how to construct our selves and social networks, and how to experience authenticity in an increasingly technological and uncertain world. Her lecture at 糖心视频<\/abbr> will propose that reconceiving choices can make for more meaningful lives.<\/p>\n

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. event. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. On-campus parking is available for $6. The facility is ADA<\/abbr> accessible. The event will also be live streamed<\/a>. <\/p>\n
