For over 50 years, Makai Ocean Engineering has been a global leader in providing innovative subsea engineering solutions. This seminar provides an overview of Makai鈥檚 current portfolio and its strategic vision. As a Hawaii-based firm with national and international clients, Makai often sits at the intersection of the global marine economy. Makai continues to lead in the market with its proprietary software, MakaiPlan and MakaiLay, providing high-accuracy planning and installation of submarine telecom and power cables. Through government R&D, Makai is developing a wide range of cutting-edge offshore and marine technologies including the Remote Anchoring and Micropiling (RAMP), TFHX Titanium Foil Heat Exchanger, S3 Seafloor Sensor Simulation systems, and, as a team member with the University of Hawaii, the Rapid Resilient Reefs for Coastal Defense (R3D), among others. Makai remains world leader in submarine pipeline installations, and continues to advance Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) and Seawater Air Conditioning (SWAC) designs.
