Sensory Room for ԴDz Faculty

October 5, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall 106 Events Room

The Center on Disability Studies (CDS) and the OFDAS Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) have partnered to create a sensory room at the University of Hawai‘i at ԴDz (ƵM), located in Kuykendall Hall 106. Sensory rooms—growing in popularity across schools, hospitals, and community centers—offer calming, controlled environments designed to support self-regulation and stress relief. With this initiative, Ƶ ԴDz joins the 55% of its peer and benchmark institutions that now provide sensory-friendly spaces, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusive and supportive campus environments. The room is open to faculty and staff for walk-in use on designated Mondays. Guided tours for classes are available by reservation for all faculty, instructors, and teaching assistants.
