U.S. Suspends Entry of Foreign Nationals Coming from China

On January 31, 2020, a temporarily suspended entries by foreign nationals, other than immediate family members of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, who have traveled to China within the past 14 days. Any foreign national who meets this criteria and applies for admission to the U.S. will be denied.

Additionally, according to an , U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have traveled to Hubei Province within the past 14 days will receive health screenings and be quarantined for 14 days. U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have traveled to other parts of China within the past 14 days will received health screenings and "up to 14 days of monitored self-quarantine."

All these actions are scheduled to take effect Sunday, February 2, at 5:00 PM EST.
